Obituary for Arlo M. Ebensberger

Arlo Marvin Ebensberger, 76, of Mount Carroll, Illinois passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Sunday, October 25, 2020. Funeral services occur at 3 pm on Friday, October 30, at the Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 1 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Arlo was born December 1, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Arlo and Henrietta (Weinbeck) Ebensberger. He was a 1962 graduate of Clinton High School.

Arlo served his Country in the United States Marine Corps. – a veteran of the Vietnam War. As a skilled Helicopter mechanic with a top security clearance, Arlo serviced the Presidential Helicopter and would ride with President Johnson and “Lady Bird” on various trips.

Arlo was united in marriage to Teri Meador on December 31, 1977 in Lanark, Illinois.

Arlo worked as a foreman for Alcoa, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS and lifetime member of the Moose in Sterling, Illinois.

Arlo enjoyed being outdoors, especially golfing and camping. He was a spirited fellow who was quick to debate current events with anyone. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.

Arlo is survived by his wife – Teri Ebensberger of Mount Carroll; one daughter – Jenny (Randy) Schroeder of Clinton; three sons – Chuck (Angie) Ebensberger of Des Moines, IA, Chris (Jackie) Ebensberger of Clinton and Jeff (Lindsay) Rabuck of Rock Falls, IL; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his his parents and one brother – Donnie.
