Andrew Bates, 65, of Clinton passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8th at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (May 11th) at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of the Open Door. Visitation will be held Wednesday (May 11th) at 2:00 p.m. until time of service, at The Church of the Open Door. Burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
Andrew was born November 25th, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William and Viola (Snooks) Bates. He married Linda King on January 20th 1967 in El Reno, Oklahoma.
Andrew worked 38 years at Dairy Pak, ending his career there in the maintenance department.
Andrew adored his grand children and great grand children. He also enjoyed wood working and spending time at the Casino.
Andrew is survived by his wife - Linda (King) Bates of Clinton, 3 daughters - Diane Fenzel (Mick Merboth) of Clinton, Jody (Chuck Jr.) Turner of Clinton, Andi Jensen (Daryl Wyant) of Clinton, 5 grandchildren - Melyssa, Michaela, Michael, AJ, Hunter, 3 great grand children - Darlyne, Levi, and Daniel, 4 sisters - Caroline, Carolyn, Ruth, Karen, and 1 brother - Kenny
He was preceded in death by - his parents, 1 sister and 5 brothers
