Obituary for Alyn Lee Kimble

Alyn Lee Kimble, 89, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Alyn was born August 4, 1933 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Selma (Michelsen) Kimble. He was united in marriage to Donna Ven Huizen on September 15, 1968 in Clinton, Iowa.

Alyn worked for the City of Clinton Transportation Department for 33 years - driving a city bus. He attended Zion Lutheran Church for many years and was a past member of the Moose Lodge.

Alyn enjoyed listening to Polka music and enjoyed taking trips each year to Wisconsin for the annual Polka Festival. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Alyn also enjoyed spending time socializing with his family, friends and regulars riding his bus. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Alyn is survived by his wife Donna of Clinton; one sister — Julie Bruce of Clinton; one sister-in-law — Julie (Ed) Sukut of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step father — Raymond Bruce; one brother — Richard; one sister — Donna Mae; one half-sister — Sharon Driscoll; two sisters-in-law; Carol Eherdt and Winnie Kimble; and one brother-in-law; Jim Eherdt.

Memorials made can be directed to the National Diabetes Association or charity of your choice in Alyn’s name.
