Allen D. Jewell Sr., 79, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Eagle Point Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, May 8, 2016. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive Clinton, Iowa). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Allen was born October 7, 1936 in Thayer, Missouri, the son of Ivory and Viola (Reed) Jewell. Allen was a 1955 graduate from Mammoth Spring High School, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He married Lela Shelley on May 6, 1958, they would later divorce. He was then united in marriage to Donna George on April 13, 1969 in Galena, Illinois.
Allen retired from Case in 1991 after 22 years of service. He loved working on cars and enjoyed visiting the Casino. He loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.
Allen is survived by his children Aline (Ray) Sparkman of Ash Flat, AR, David (Charlene Neal) Jewell of Jonesboro, AR and Eva (Corey) Dykstra of Morrison, Il; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister - Lucille Sisco of Mammoth Spring, AR; one brother Don Jewell of Mammoth Spring, AR.
Preceding Allen in death were his parents, his wife Donna, one son - Allen Jr. and one sister - Clara Haring
