Obituary for Allen Dean Edfors
Allen Dean Edfors, 59, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Monday, January 24, 2022. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of his life taking place from 3 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Private burial occurs at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Allen was born January 22, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Jerry and Shirley (Johnston) Edfors. He was a graduate of Camanche High School.
Allen was united in marriage to Barb Simmons on August 9, 1996 in Clinton, Iowa.
He worked as process operator at ADM and later worked at Raynor Door Company.
In his younger days Allen loved spending the summers with family in Missouri. He also loved playing softball for various area teams, including ADM. He loved to go camping with his family, especially at Sunset Lakes Campground. He always found time to get out and enjoy a ride on his Harley. Above all, he loved his family very much especially his grandchildren and will be incredibly missed.
Allen is survived by his mother Shirley Johnson of Clinton, his wife Barb Edfors of Clinton; two daughters – Lindsey Howard and Brittany (Brad) Johnson and two sons – Matthew Edfors and Ben Edfors all of Clinton; six grandchildren – Hayley, Jazmine, Alexis, Hailynn, Rylan and Andrew; three sisters – Deb Ammeter of Clinton, Pam (Mike) Sampson of Bettendorf and Margie (Tim) Dorland; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, step-father and one sister – Michelle Proud.
