Alberta Kay Kersey, 71, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center - North on Friday, July 5th, 2013. Honoring Alberta's wishes, cremation rights have been accorded with a celebration of her life to take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with prayer and reflections of her life occurring at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9th at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). Private burial will occur following the service at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Alberta was born June 26th, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Verna (Guignon) Risch.
Alberta worked at the Sara Harding Home for over 15 years in kitchen services.
Alberta loved the outdoors especially camping and fishing. She enjoyed spending many hours tending to her garden. She loved her three dogs - Tuffy, Daisy and Honey. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Alberta is survived by one daughter - Dawn (Calvin) Terrell of Blytheville, Ark.; three sons - Dan (Shelly) Hood of Loves Park IL., Butch (Mindy) Kersey of Clinton, IA., Dusty (Tanya) Kersey of Clinton, IA.; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters - Hazel Foster of Clinton, IA., Donna Schockey of Clinton, IA., many nieces, nephews and her good friends from Sara Harding along with her special friends who took dialysis treatments with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband - Raymond, one brother and one sister.
